Course topics:

Planning as a key managerial task. Preparation of planning, the planning process, levels of planning.

Problem solving: problem taxonomy, problem solving process and methods. Open and closed problems. Decision making: criteria and requirements.

Organizing and organizations: principles and methods. The configuration of organizations, designing the organization, developing organizational structures, advantages and disadvantages of different forms.

Managing and leading in organization, principles, methods, types of leaders and the adaptation process. The specialties of situative leadership and other trends. Power and organizational culture.

Tasks of controlling: matching to plans and the organizational environment, modifications. The improvising leadership.

Aims:

To broaden students’ knowledge of different management activities, to help them apply management theories to solve practical problems in planning, organizing and controlling business activity.
