Course description:

  • Biases in perception
  • Cross-cultural communication barriers
  • Stereotypes and their effects
  • Diversity-related conflicts
  • Exploring cultures on the basis of Hofstede et al.

Aims:

This training-type course focuses on increasing participants' awareness of any types of personal differences and to how these may be managed in everyday life and in a business environment. It is designed to help people develop skills useful in any intercultural situation. Further aims are to increase positive attitudes toward people from different cultures or with different background; to increase awareness of the problems that may arise when communicating with different people; to increase self-awareness and improve problem solving.
